Assistantship with the Rhode Island Children's Chorus Application Deadline: Saturday, August 23
WHAT: Each year several talented high school singers with leadership abilities are selected to serve as mentors and assist with all choral activities for the Rhode Island Children’s Chorus (RICC), a select ensemble that performs regularly
with the Providence Singers, the RI Philharmonic, and at other prestigious events. This is a volunteer position that has enabled many past assistants to receive college scholarships and earn acceptance into the National Honor Society. For those students who need to do community service work with the children’s chorus will satisfy this requirement. WHEN: The RICC rehearses on Sunday afternoons and/or on Friday evenings. Each of the three choruses rehearses for 2 hours,
but the assistants will be appointed to two ensembles. Several performances are scheduled throughout the year. WHO: Talented female singers in grades 10-12 with an interest in music and children (because the BENEFITS: The RICC assistants will receive all of their music and their concert shirts free of charge.
