Auditions
AUDITIONS for the award-winning Rhode Island Children's Chorus will be held on Saturday, January 7 from 10:00-12:00 at the RI Philharmonic Carter Center, East Providence and on
Saturday, January 14 - 10:00-12:00 at St. Luke's Church, East Greenwich. No appointment is necessary. All children ages 7-17 who enjoy singing are encouraged to audition. Children will meet individually with Dr. Christine Noel, who will guide your child through vocal exercises to evaluate range, tone quality and overall musical aptitude (Dr. Noel will sing quietly with your child, if necessary). They will be asked to sing a simple song (eg. "Happy Birthday"), or another song of their choosing. If the child prefers to sing with piano accompaniment, please have him/her bring the sheet music of the song to be sung. Your child will not need to be present for the entire session and may come in at any time during the audition period. The audition will take approximately 10 minutes. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. We understand that some children may be shy, but this will be a very positive and encouraging experience.
